Project CU Unveils Expanded Pharma Room During Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On August 25, 2026, Project CU proudly celebrated the expansion of their Pharma Room with a tour and ribbon cutting ceremony.
The project’s funding and expansion was made possible by a $100,000 competitive improvement grant from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), along with $24,000 in support of the Developmental Disability Resources Board (DDR), and support from partners at Steris and Trademark Medical. The expansion added 1,000 square feet of production space, increasing their medical processing space by 65%. The large space will provide more opportunities for business and hiring individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Business partners, members of the Boards of Directors, and Challenge Unlimited employees gathered for the celebration. Executive Director Kit Brewer and Project CU staff guided attendees through the existing pharma processing area before unveiling the newly expanded space.

The ribbon cutting marked more than the opening of an expanded facility. It represented Project CU’s continued commitment to creating meaningful employment opportunities and investing in the future of inclusive workforce development. As production capabilities grow, so does the organization’s ability to empower individuals with disabilities through purposeful work, skill development, and greater independence.
